Qualifications & experience

• Experience within a Senior role 
• Experience working with modern PHP in a highly OOP fashion, including MVC frameworks such as Laravel or similar frameworks such as Symfony will be considered
• Exposure to HTML/CSS and JavaScript, modern frontend frameworks include React.js (although this role will be geared towards the back end, it is good to have knowledge)
• Experience in a TDD environment, unit testing, feature testing, integration testing, good understanding of design patterns and architecture
• Experience working in a cloud-based environment with AWS and supporting tools, ability to deploy, experience working with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins)
• Working for SaaS products which integrate across multiple APIs in a modern microservices web application

Tasks & responsibilities

• Lead and mentor junior PHP developers
• Design and implement complex web applications and systems using PHP
• Ensure project delivery within scope, timeline, and budget
• Collaborate with other teams to develop and implement new features
• Design and implement scalable, high-performance, and secure solutions
• Develop and maintain technical roadmaps and plans for continuous improvement
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in PHP technology
• Participate in code and design reviews to ensure high-quality standards are met
• Communicate project status, risks, and solutions to stakeholders
• Lead technical design and architecture decisions for PHP projects
• Provide technical guidance and direction for the PHP development team.
